Black Knight, Inc. , formerly known as Black Knight Financial Services, is an American company that provides integrated technology, service, data and analysis solutions for the mortgage and real estate industry. On January 3, 2014, Fidelity National Financial acquired Lender Processing Services (LPS) and renamed it to Black Knight Financial Services . On October 2, 2017, upon completion of distribution by Fidelity National Financial from its equity interest in Black Knight Financial Services, Inc., the company was renamed Black Knight (NYSE: Ã, BKI).

History
The company, later known as LPS, was established in 2007. It has served as a mortgage business segment of Fidelity National Information Services, spinning in 2008 to become a fully independent, publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange, trading under the symbol LPS Jeffery Carbiener, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Fidelity National Information Services at the time of distribution, became the first President and Chief Executive Officer of LPS.
On March 14, 2011, the Company's subsidiary, LPS Mortgage Processing Solutions, Inc., acquired PCLender.com, Inc. (PCLender.com). In May 2012, Constellation Software Inc. acquired the Company's Regional Government Solutions division. In July 2012, the Company acquired LendingSpace, a provider of loan mortgage loan software solutions.
On October 5, 2011, LPS was named Hugh Harris President and CEO. Prior to coming to LPS, Harris served as President of the Financial Services Technology division at Fidelity National Financial and Fidelity National Information Services. Prior to joining Fidelity National Financial, Harris is President and CEO of HomeSide Lending, Inc., where he is responsible for one of the world's largest full-service mortgage companies.
On January 3, 2014, LPS was renamed Black Knight Financial Services after it was acquired by Fidelity National Financial, which ranked # 314 among Fortune 500 Companies in 2015. LPS product offerings support origination, service, portfolio retention and default services. The service solution includes LoanSphere MSP, the mortgage loan service platform, which is used to serve about 50 percent of all US mortgages based on dollar volume. The company also provides ownership and analytical data for the mortgage, real estate and capital markets industries. LPS is a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, which previously employed some 8,000 professionals.
On October 2, 2017, upon completion of distribution by Fidelity National Financial from its equity interest in Black Knight Financial Services, Inc., the company changed its name to Black Knight and started trading with the NYSE BKI (NYSE: Ã, BKI) symbol.
