FirstPlus Financial Group is a Texas based mortgage company traded under the FPFX symbol. In 2011, numerous indictments and other legal actions indicated that the company had been taken over by the Lucchese crime family using threats and violence. They are able to remove all directors and corporate managers, replacing them with their own.
According to the company, in June 2007 the gangsters forced the company to buy some companies with very unfavorable requirements. They may take $ 12 million from shareholders.
On June 24, 2011, the company filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11.
At one point, the company has Vice President Dan Quayle as a legitimate board member. American footballer Dan Marino has been a TV spokesman.
