Acquisitions
In 2012, Guaranteed Rate acquires Manhattan Mortgage, a mortgage broker housing in the New York Metropolitan Area. Founded in 1985 by Melissa L. Cohn, the company employs over 100 indigenous home loan and loan professionals in New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida and New Jersey. Cohn then sued Guaranteed Rate and CEO Victor Ciardelli for breach of contract and fraud among other complaints but to no avail.
In 2014, Guaranteed Rate acquires Sun State Home Loans, Nationwide Direct and Arbor Mortgage in one transaction. Di also acquired the FirsTrust Mortgage creditor in Overland Park, Kansas.
